FAQs – Your Wedding Stationery Questions Answered

GENERAL

What does the Design Fee include?

Art direction & creative study of the graphic aesthetic, minimum 3 proposals in first draft, realistic mockups and design presentation, 30 min videocall (if needed), 3 rounds of edits (any kind), nib & ink handmade calligraphy & digitization (if required), study & design of monogram / crest (if required), Print Acknowledgement before production, envelope hand addressing with calligraphy if requested (names, not full address), production direction, full assembly of elements & packaging. We reserve a discounted design fee for some couples, please do ask us!

What can I expect to invest?

Couples invest an average of $2,000 for bespoke wedding invitations, and around $2,500 for day-of stationery (excluding large-format panels).

Can I order only Day-of stationery?

Yes — many couples come to us after sending their invitations. We’ll ensure your day-of pieces are stylistically consistent with your wedding invitations or we can design something completely custom, per your wish.

What if the wedding is canceled or postponed?

If the date changes and work hasn’t begun, the signed contract remains valid.

If canceled before work begins: 30% of the contract is retained.

If canceled after work starts: we keep costs already incurred (materials, etc.) + 30% of the agreement.

Do you accept international / U.S. clients?

Yes — we work mainly with international couples getting married in Italy and ship globally.

Do you work with wedding planners?

Absolutely. We collaborate closely with planners, florists, and event stylists to ensure cohesive visual design across your wedding day.

Do you provide live calligraphy at events?

Yes. We can incorporate live calligraphy services our calligrapher can do in front of your guests (escort cards, or custom gifts or anything else you’d like). A travel & overnight fee from Verona may apply depending on the location.

PAYMENTS & TERMS

Do you offer payment plans?

To reserve your project slot, a 50% deposit is required. The remaining balance is due prior to the wedding, when receiving the Final Balance. Please refer to the documents we share with you.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Do you ship wedding invitations directly to guests?

Yes, this service has a flat cost of €40 to which the individual shipping costs must be added, which vary according to size, weight, delivery times and destinations.

What are estimated shipping times?

This really depends on your location and urgency. Parcels within Italy (islands and Calabria excluded) usually arrive in 48/72h. European parcels usually arrive in 7 working days, while extra EU parcels take between 10 to 20 business days. Customs fee may apply and are borne by the client.

Please note the estimated times are purely indicative and do not guarantee delivery by the date communicated. Any receival of the materials after the expected date, caused by delays depending on the carrier, does not exclude the customer from paying for the material. The full amount indicated in the Final Balance of the materials produced by Pink Ink Studio will be remunerated.

Is shipping insured?

Unfortunately, parcels cannot be insured, as it would require meeting parameters that are impossible to verify once parcels are handed to the courier.
Rest assured, we take the greatest care in packaging and shipping your stationery to ensure it arrives safely and in perfect condition.

What if the package is lost or damaged?

From the moment the package is delivered to the courier, we disclaim any liability for delays, loss, tampering or any damage. The total or partial reimbursement of missing packages is at the discretion of the individual shipping companies and responsibility is transferred to shipping companies for the refund procedure.

If there is enough time, we can make a super rush order and produce once again the lost material. This will be fully charged to the customer.

Do you ship large format panels?

Big format panels that can be shipped will be sent to the wedding location, in agreement with the location manager, separately from small sized stationery; we can agree that elements that need to be assembled in place will be taken there by our staff. Once materials have been delivered, it is the responsibility of the couple or wedding planner to either take elements home or have them disposed of.

LEAD TIMES & SCHEDULING

When should I book for wedding invitations?

For destination weddings: ideally 9–10 months ahead, more if you plan on sending Save the dates beforehand.

When should I request day-of stationery?

At least 5-4 months before your wedding date.

After I book, when will my wedding invitations be ready?

With your Custom Quote you will be provided with a project Timeline that will guide us in our journey together. The Ordinary Timeline is our standard schedule, designed to ensure your wedding stationery is crafted with care and precision.
If deadlines in this timeline are missed or you need a faster track, we move to an Urgency Timeline, which allows us to complete your project faster but may limit certain materials or production options. A 20% urgency fee is added to the final balance in these cases.

If the Urgency Timeline cannot be fully met, we may deliver only the print-ready digital files, leaving production to the client or wedding planner. Read all about lead times in our Custom Design Process page (link here).

Can the order quantity be changed?

You will be asked for final print quantities in the Print Acknowledgements which can absolutely be changed from the one initially quoted. After everything has been produced we’ll create a Final Balance in which we’ll remove or add everything that has not actually been created.
If the quantity changes after signing the Print Acknowledgements, unfortunately you will be charged with all the elements produced or may incur in charges for last second additions.

DESIGN

Do you offer semi-custom or ready-made designs?

No. Every suite is completely bespoke and tailored to your tastes and narrative.

Can I see a physical proof?

We do not provide printed proofs due to the custom nature of materials, but our digital proofs accurately represent texture, color, and layout and are provided with a 1:1 proof that you can print at home and review.

Does Pink Ink offer digital invitation files?

Yes — we can provide print-ready files and digital save-the-dates upon request.

Can you replicate another designer’s style?

We can take other designs as inspiration and starting points, but we wouldn’t like our designs to be copied so we strive not to do this to other designers. We have intellectual property on every design we make, and so do other designers 🙂
